if the plant is aloe vera than keep it in your room all you like – nor cats nor dogs really like it. By the way it’s one of the healthiest plants, not poisonous.

I burned the tips of my aloe plant in the sun…Should I cut them off?
I bought a brand new, pretty small aloe plant. I immediately put it in a larger pot with a good cactus mix soil. I wasn’t thinking, and I left it out in the sun – full sun, very hot – all day the day after I repotted it. When I got home, the tips had all turned brown as if burned. Should I cut the tips off? I’m assuming burned leaves cannot cure themselves? What happens to aloe plants/leaves when they are cut??

I have grown Aloe in pots for years and this occasionally happens to me, though I’m not sure it is due to the Sun.

My conclusion is that it is caused by inadequate water.

In the case of your re-potting, even if you watered it, it’s possible that the disturbed roots were unable to get adequate water to the leaf tips.

In any case, I have always trimmed the brown tips off just back into the green area and had no problems. I use a very sharp ‘box cutter” knife and a single, clean sliding stroke to get a clean one-motion cut.

Inside the leaf is a “gel” material [helps to heal your cuts, scratches, sunburn, etc.] which will develop a dried “scab” within a few hours, and the plant will not be harmed. If you want, you can also just leave the brown ends alone and eventually they’ll just fall off on their own.

As a matter of fact that is how people use Aloe to treat wounds and such, by just cutting off a leaf tip and squeezing the gel onto the wound.

How do i preserve beauty products with fruit in them?
I am 17 and I want to start creating facial masks with various fruits in them! Eventually I want to have an all natural beauty business with lotions, shampoos, makeup, facial masks, and shampoos & conditioners. First I want to start out with facial masks! If I were to use fruits in my masks and sell them to people, how would I be able to preserve my products????? HELP!

you need sterile jars, read about canning fruits and jams.
Clean hands and use pectin. It sets fruit and jellies to the gel state. It also protects the product from the outside.

protect your findings and you could make a fortune one day selling the item or rights to some one.

Honey is a great product for the face.

Why does my aloe plant has little bugs roaming around on the soil?& How do I get rid of them?
I’ve tried to bring my aloe inside but there are little bugs that roam around on the soil & they sometimes fly around. What are these bugs & how do I get rid of them?
Right now, I have my plant outside with a towel over it. It seems to help it grow but I dont want to kill it during the winter months by not bringing it inside.
Any info will help!

mix up a little soap and water, using a spray bottle spray plants well rinse with clear water, repeat in 12 to 24 hours if need. OR use a mild insecticide spray. Dawn dish soap seems to work well for some reason.

Now that I have more room I’ll explain…I just re-potted my aloe and now I have two new baby aloe’s coming up. I want to make more plants if possible without killing my big aloe. Can I gently dig up these little aloes and try to repot them?

yes, but i would wait till they’ve matured enough to not be as fragile on their own. Once they get a little bigger (i’m guessing they’re REALLY tiny right now) then you can gently dig them up and transfer them to another pot

My aloe plant’s roots are exposed, and most of the roots are just setting on top of the soil. There seem to be several different plants in the one very large pot.

oh my yes… split them up I had a large one in my yard thought it had babies all around….when I was done there were 48 plants… you can re pot the separate or you can put 2 or 3 together for drama… I have 3 large ones in a pot that keep blooming over and over …they are very happy together… all I did was just move them and put just enough dirt to cover the roots..
