What does “sprout pups” mean in regards to an aloe vera plant?
I was reading online about how to duplicate my aloe plant. I have only had it for a few months so i don’t know to much about it. The web site said that once my aloe vera plant “sprouts pups” then cut them off and replant those. What are “pups”, what do they look like, and how will i know when my aloe vera plant sproats them?

Aloe Vera sprout from the root and send up new shoots. You will see what looks like a separate plant growing in the pot that is actually attached to the original plant. that is the sprout pup and can be cut off and moved to a new container.

Why does the aloe plant take so long to sprout?
I bought an aloe kit and in the instructions it says it will take a month or more for the aloe seeds to sprout. Now that seems like a ridiculously long time to a farm girl who’s used to seeing corn and beans sprout in a matter of days. What makes the plant take so long to sprout?

I don’t know, but it’s worth it. A little too worth it if you ask me. My wife got a aloe plant 5 years ago. Now we have 10. Those things out grow their pots in no time. Our 9 other plants all came from the same original plant. Be prepared to either have a lot of aloe plants or give a lot of them away.
