How do I separate aloe at the root?
I have an aloe plant and it’s starting to get out of hand. I need to separate them so that I can re-pot them. How do I separate them at the roots?

Literally cut the plant in half and transplant the other half into another pot.
Line the bottom of each pot with a few inches of stone for drainage and back-fill with your chosen potting mix and that’s it.
Some of the plant will die but both of your new plants will live on to get out of hand once again.

When can I plant Aloe plant buddings in a separate pot?
I have an aloe plant that has several shoots that are growing off the “parent.” The biggest one is about 2 inches tall, and has 4 leaves growing. Is that big enough to separate and plant by itself? And what kind of soil do you use for the new plant?
