Can an Aloe Vera plant have new growth and root rot at the same time?
Everyone tells me my Aloe plant has root rot, but it also has new growth. Is it possible for an Aloe Vera plant to have root rot and new growth at the same time?

Yes. The aloe vera leaf is capable of developing roots when separated from the main plant. This is how many new plants are started. I would separate the healthy tissue from the unhealthy tissue and put it in a new pot with fresh potting soil. Then throw away the soil and unhealthy plant parts and sterilize the pot before reuse. If you want to encourage root formation on leaves without roots dip the cut ends in “rooting powder” available at any garden center like Lowe’s, Home Depot, or Fred Meyer.

Now that I have more room I’ll explain…I just re-potted my aloe and now I have two new baby aloe’s coming up. I want to make more plants if possible without killing my big aloe. Can I gently dig up these little aloes and try to repot them?

yes, but i would wait till they’ve matured enough to not be as fragile on their own. Once they get a little bigger (i’m guessing they’re REALLY tiny right now) then you can gently dig them up and transfer them to another pot
