Does anyone have a thriving aloe plant, potted and in the house?
My aloe is growing new leaves, but instead of getting wide and sturdy they are extremely thin and long (10-12 in.), and get bent marks from hanging over the edges of the pot. The pot is about 6 in. in diameter and 6 in. deep. I used bagged gardening soil. The plant was given to me without a tag, so I have no idea what species it is. I’ve tried online gardening sites to no avail, so any advice/comments would be greatly appreciated.

how do i get rid of ants living in my potted aloe plant?
i adopted a little potted aloe plant today and it’s just infested with the smallest ants i’ve ever seen. they look the size of chiggers, but are definitely ants. what can i do to get rid of them that’s cheap and won’t kill my plant?

well first of all definitely move it somewhere, so that wherever the ants are coming from, they won’t be able to follow their scent trails to find it. i would clean the pot and the spot where you keep it for the same reason. there is something my aunt tried for her ant problem- she said it worked wonderfully, i’d like to try it myself. It was some kind of eucalyptus spray, like the oil diluted in water. it smells really strong, so you’ll have to ventilate, but according to my aunt it works. and it’s a plant oil, so i don’t think it would harm another plant.
