Aloe Vera plant outside in a 100 lb pot?
My Aloe Vera plant is outside in a 100 # pot, difficult to lift and carry. I need to protect it from 27º temperatures coming up in two days, lower in December. The boss says “no way” can the plant come in the house. Oklahoma is capable of below zero but it’s rare. Any ideas?
Mary C, Last year it was a tiny in house plant…all summer long it grew, I kept changing the pot it was in. Now it is 3 feet high and just about as wide with lots of side sprouts for giveaways.

Can an indoor aloe plant be moved outside?
I have an aloe plant that has outgrown my window sill. I was thinking of putting it outside on my deck during the summer months, but wasn’t sure if it could live outdoors after spending over a year indoors. Would it make it ok in the heat? I’d still keep it in the same pot and move it back inside for winter. Thanks!

Put it in a shady place and gradually increase its exposure to sunlight.
The plant will need some time to harden off.

Is the gel inside aloe vera toxic to cats or just the outside of the plant?
I have given my cats fractionally distilled liquid from aloe vera leaves, at an infant dosage, two teaspoons per day, mixed in their water occasionally. How much aloe is toxic and is any amount ever healing like it is for humans?

just be on the safe side and don’t use any aloe on your cats. find other medicines to help.
