Do beauty editors need to know how to apply makeup?

Do beauty editors need to know how to apply makeup?
I want to know if it’s a plus that someone knows how to apply makeup to become a beauty editor or is it a requirement? How can I start sharpening my skills in order to become a beauty editor? Should I learn about all the different makeup brushes and colors?

if you want to be a beauty editor, you’ll have to have a wide, wide, wide range of skills and a LOT of drive. it’ll be a lot of hard work to get to that high up at a big magazine

if you are in college now, i’d suggest getting a double major in journalism (or communications) and fashion.

on the side, i would learn everything you can about fashion, makeup, writing, graphic design, photoshop, women’s issues, skincare, etc! basically, the more you know about what is important to your reader and how to execute the idea from the technical magazine side, the more likely you’ll be to achieve your dreams.

How come some YouTube beauty gurus never do makeup tutorials?

How come some YouTube beauty gurus never do makeup tutorials?
I love watching YouTube beauty videos for a little over a year now, but I’ve noticed that some gurus never do makeup tutorials. Or even if they do the looks kind of all look very similar. Or they do some makeup tutorials, but rarely like only 2-3 makeup tutorials. I was wondering how some gurus do a lot of makeup tutorials, while others doesn’t? Is it because they aren’t that good with makeup?

At what age does a woman’s beauty start to fade and does she become dependent on makeup to keep looking good?

At what age does a woman’s beauty start to fade and does she become dependent on makeup to keep looking good?
I know girls start wearing makeup from a very early age these days but they do so for reasons other than fading beauty. In a lot of cases they do this to make up beauty that never really existed in the first place. But some girls are naturally beautiful. However, no matter how beautiful you are eventually your looks start to fade. So the question is this: at what age do nature’s gifts start to fade and artificial aids become necessary for women to sustain a level of beauty that they previously had without the aid of any makeup.

Make up doesn’t work like that. It can accentuate facial features, but it doesn’t create or change them. Natural beauty comes down to facial structure and symmetry. Women who have that will always have it, age be damned. Beautiful women will just age into older versions of beautiful women. Look at Catherine Hepburn in On Golden Pond.

Makeup. . .?

Makeup. . .?
I’m wearing a white girly top and blue jeans. Short medium straight hair with bangs… pale baby face, dark brown hair and dark brown eyes. I’m going to a party any suggestions for makeup? I like to emphasize my eyes(almond and round shaped) btw

You could do a light smokey eye. With browns, greens, umbers, and sandy colors. It has a nice fresh look to it. For make up elsewhere, I’d go for light foundation, just barely on. A light aplication. And some light pinkish-samon or clear shiny gloss. And light blush. Have fun at your party!
