My plant is about 1 & 1/2 foot tall and a little more then a foot wide and I’d like to start another plant for my son, he just got his own place and would love to have a aloe plant.

I took a cutting from my big aloe vera plant, the cutting is about 6 inches, i planted it about 1 & half inches into a soil mixed with gravel ( 3/4 soil , 1/4 gravel )

i’m not sure about the roots, but if you want to get the aloe out of it you can get it from the prickly stems. i have an aloe plant and that’s what i do.

You can acutally use any part of the fern because they necesarilly don’t have seeds and duplicate themselves by having spores under their leaves.

As for the Aloe I have an aloe plany myself usually a tiny TINY aloe comes out from the ground and I take it out and put it in another pot. You can acutally eat aloe too u have to cut the LARGEST leaf and then eat it. But i dont think your asking that.
