Aloe vera for burns without killing the plant?
I’ve heard that aloe vera gel straight from the aloe vera leaf is good for burns. But I’m wondering, how much of the leaf do you have to cut off to get the gel? Does it damage the plant if you cut off too much? Do you cut it with a knife, or a kitchen shears, or what?

Just go by some in a bottle at the pharmacy.

can you use the liquid from an aloe plant on burns?
We have an aloe plant and someone told us we could cut a piece of it and apply the liquid that comes out of it on a burn. Two questions:

1. Does it work?

2. If so, how can you store the liquid for later use?

I’ve never tried it before, but according to some sites, yes, it does soothe burns. You can simply store the unused gel in a container for later use – the effects of it will still be the same no matter when you use it.
