Does anyone remember a certain Beauty and the Beast retelling?
Back when I was in high school I read a retelling of beauty and the beast that was set on the east coust of the U.S. The main character’s name was Isabelle or Isabella. I can’t remember the title and have been trying to get a collection together of fairy tale retellings and it is one that I would like to include. If anyone can help me that would be great. Thanks.

hi! i think i can help you, l’ve read “Beauty” by Robin McKinley. In this version, Beauty was born the youngest of three sisters, respectively named Grace, Hope and Honour. At an early age, though, Beauty’s precociousness earns her the nickname “Beauty,” which sticks despite its apparent inappropriateness. But also McKinley’s second voyage into the tale of Beauty and the Beast resulted in Rose Daughter. So there are two versions there. I’ve only read Beauty, and it was really great!

But the one you’re looking for i think is by Nancy Holder who wrote an entry in the Once Upon a Time series called Spirited, which is a loose retelling of the story with a young Englishwoman named Isabella Stevenson who falls in love with her captor, Wusamequin. I think that’s it?

Anyway, check out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beauty_and_the_Beast#Fiction_versions because it has a list under “fiction literature” of all the adaptations of Beauty and the Beast.

Goodluck, and i hope you do try McKinley’s novel, she also retells a lot of other fairy tales in really fascinating ways!

Disney Beauty and the Beast promotes bestiality?

Disney Beauty and the Beast promotes bestiality?
I just finished watching Beauty and the Beast with this 5 year old girl who I am currently baby sitting. As I am sitting next to her, running my rough manly hands through her fragile hair and her smooth, silky evening gown, I just can’t help but wonder if Beauty and the Beast is some sort of deviant porn for children that plants a seed of a deep adoration for bestiality that will, perhaps, some day evolve into a full blown love for the feral.

You shouldn’t be babysitting that girl. You sound like a pedo.

Get a copy of The Musical “South Pacific”.
The Central Character Nellie, South Pacific, and Belle, Beauty and the Beast, are Very Similar.

Nellie came before Belle and in some Disney behind the scene footage you’ll find that they drew inspiration from Nellie.
Interestingly enough the Actress who voiced the Original Belle in Disney’s Animated Film went on to play Nellie in an Australian Production of South Pacific.

Understand Beauty and The Beast, it’s story, it’s characters & it’s routes.
Then practice, practice, practice – before the Audition.
Then you will have your best chance possible at getting the part.

All the best 🙂

The special edition was released in 2002. I’m not sure if they release them from the vault after that. I did see on wikepedia that “the film is currently scheduled for a Fall 2010 release on Diamond Edition Blu-Ray and DVD”. However, you can still find it on places like Ebay, Amazon, Ioffer.com, etc.

How can you make the beauty and the beast rose petals fall?
I am a connoisseur of fine props. And it just so happens that my drama department is putting on the broadway version of the greatly loved musical “The Beauty and the Beast.” So i have been appointed to create the rose. I have the design of the rose down. But i need to know how to make the petals fall to the table from the rose. Much obliged.

What french castle inspired beauty and the beast?
I know there’s an actual castle in France that inspired the author of Beauty and the Beast. I can’t remember the name of it but I know it had the word ‘couer’ in it.

The castle of Raray is the answer. It is there that Jean Cocteau shot his eponymous film in 1945.
