Hey, I have about 7 aloe veras & have been raising them since 1992. They are growing like wildfire but my problem is that I want THICK leaves, not the small ones!
How do I get thick leaves like my grandpa use to have.
Dimensions- mine are aprox 2 fingers wide, my grandpas were about 4 fingers wide.

Best Suggestion

Answer by ozzy chik…
maybe your Grandpa had a giant variety or ones that grow wild in the country….down here we have all kinds and types including the giants………..go to a plant nursery or your equivalent and ask about them or check cactus varieties in a book at your library……..best of luck..

How do I separate aloe at the root?

How do I separate aloe at the root?
I have an aloe plant and it’s starting to get out of hand. I need to separate them so that I can re-pot them. How do I separate them at the roots?

Best Suggestion

Answer by the truth
Literally cut the plant in half and transplant the other half into another pot.
Line the bottom of each pot with a few inches of stone for drainage and back-fill with your chosen potting mix and that’s it.
Some of the plant will die but both of your new plants will live on to get out of hand once again.

How do I treat an allergic reaction from an Aloe Vera plant?
I slipped and fell onto an Aloe Vera plant and it grazed my ankle. Six hours later the area around the cut is swollen and red, my foot is stiff and I can’t walk on it any more. Is this normal? Does anyone else get allergic reactions to Aloe, and if so how do you treat them?

Best Suggestion

Answer by Toddy G
well it sounds like you have a severe allergie to aloe, the only way i treat my allergie is with benadryl cream and pills, try taking 50mg’s of benadryl (2 pills) every 3 hours, and rub a little benadryl cream on the cut every 4 hours,
i hope my answer was helpful.
good luck with your aloe allergie.
